Dr. Annette Da Silva
DO, FAOCPMR, FAAPMR
“I knew from the early age of 13 that I wanted to go into the medical profession. Now many years later and nearly 20 years in private practice, it’s still all about helping people. From age 15, I was fortunate enough to work for a doctor! I got to see behind the scenes of a thriving medical practice and grew determined to open my own someday. Prior to entering medical school, I worked for the medical examiner doing autopsies and forensic medicine. My passion for medicine only seemed to heighten but I missed the patient interaction. During my medical school rotations, I became introduced to the field of Physiatry working at Kessler Institute, NJ. Christopher Reeve was a patient there (after his spinal cord injury) and I was fortunate enough to help with his care. I did another at NYU Medical/Rusk Institute where, I ultimately ended up doing my residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This is a field where I get to diagnosis and treat a wide range of medical problems which range from medical, musculoskeletal, neurological, rheumatologic and orthopedic. I restore their healthy and maximize function, thereby improving quality of life. I have continued my training, getting my Acupuncture certification, amongst a host of other certifications and skills. In addition, I am an Independent medical examiner and have reviewed thousands of personal injury and workers compensation cases for insurance companies, employers, and attorneys (both plaintiff and defendant). This role provides for me being well versed in state and national guidelines that govern patient treatments. Today, I can say I have a very extensive tool box which serves my patients and colleagues well. I enjoy patient interaction and getting good results. Giving hope to those who are suffering is where I thrive. Restoring health and function is my passion.”
